UPLB welcomed to the campus research fellow Mihaly Jancso, the deputy head of the research center from the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) last March 7-8, 2022. MATE is UPLB’s partner university.

Coordinated by the Embassy of Hungary in Manila, the visit aimed to explore research collaboration and academic partnerships of UPLB with MATE. 

Chancellor Jose V. Camacho Jr. discussed the University’s research and extension initiatives to the visitor while Director Anna Floresca F. Firmalino suggested that UPLB and MATE start with student exchanges and sandwich programs.

Jancso also attended the grand launch of UPLB’s research agenda, the UPLB AGORA, to learn more about the research and extension activities of UPLB.

Also included in the visit’s itinerary were meetings with key personnel and site visits to the College of Agriculture and Food Science, College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technologies, Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Water, and the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
